THE MINERVA CONVENT

Extraordinary opening with special permissionSanta Maria sopra Minerva (the only example of Gothic art in Rome), full of extraordinary masterpieces and, with a special permit, we will access the convent, always closed to the public. The cloister and the richly frescoed sacristy, the cell of Saint Catherine of Siena – with the hidden masterpieces of Antoniazzo Romano (the Botticelli of Lazio) -, the tomb of Fra Angelico and the Carafa Chapel (which will be opened only for us), represent only a small part of the treasures that the Dominicans have in this extraordinary convent complex. We will follow the splendid square with the obelisk, Palazzo Santa Chiara – where Santa Caterina da Siena stayed in Rome – and we will conclude our tour discovering the Pantheon and enjoying a good coffee at Sant’Eustachio.
